 Métiers et carrières de la bioinformatique | JeBiF Workshop à Paris pour JOBIM 2011:Cette année encore, JeBiF sera présent à JOBIM la conférence majeure de bioinformatique en France, organisée par la SFBI.
Nous avons préparé une journée satellite sur les métiers et carrières en bioinformatiques’adressant à tous les étudiants, thésards et post-docs intéressés par des carrières en France ou à l’étranger, dans le public comme dans le privé. Un début de carrière en bioinformatique est souvent source de nombreuses questions: quels sont les enjeux dont on doit être conscient avant de se lancer dans tel ou tel plan de carrière? Quels sont les bons choix à faire pour accéder à la recherche académique en France? Quand et où partir, pour une expérience à l’étranger? Comment revenir, si on fait ce choix? Quels métiers offre la recherche bioinformatique dans le privé? Comment y réussir? Peut-on mener de front une activité académique tout en ayant une activité dans le privé? L’objectif de ce workshop est de discuter tous ensemble – sous forme de tables rondes – avec des intervenants qui apporteront toute leur expertise sur un sujet donné (voir le programme ci-dessous). | Employment and careers in bioinformatics | JeBiF Workshop at Paris for JOBIM 2011: This year, one more time, JeBiF will be present at JOBIM the main conference of bioinformatics in France, which is organised by SFBI.
We prepared a complementary day, to talk about Employment and careers in bioinformatics , for students, phd students and post-doc which are interessed to work in France or in other countries, in a private or public sector. Start a bioinformatics carrer can lead to many questions: what are the issues to be aware before strating a specific plan carrer? What are the good choices to do to have an accademic research position in France? When and where should I move to have a foreig n experience? How can I come back when I made this choice? What employments need bioinformatics research in private sector? How can I be successful? Can we have either a private and academic employment? The main goal of this conference is to discust together -as round table manner- with speackers given them personnal point of view in a particular topic (see program below).
